"The author gives a personal account of his life before and after a heart transplant. Robbie became ill with congestive heart failure while still a young man, from what doctors believed was an ordinary flu virus. For years he was able to postpone a transplant with diet, medications, and clinical trials, but the day would come when a transplant was his last hope. The gift of life he eventually received would be the end of five long years of waiting, but would by no means be the end of his struggles. Robbie has been able to find humor throughout his story, even in some of the darkest moments of his life. This, along with faith, family, and perhaps his own stubbornness may be what has seen him through it all."
